All Greek jars have their own story to tell in their design. But after all, today it's mostly about which design you think fits in best with the environment in which the jar will stand and is, in other words, simply a matter of taste.

Roumpes have a classic, timeless design and are just as usable together with other types of jars as standing alone. Its shape with the chubby body and small opening is characteristic of jars where food has previously been hidden for the winter, because the small opening has retained the taste. As a plant pot, it offers the advantage that evaporation is reduced and at the same time there is a large volume for soil.

All Minoan jars are frost-proof and handmade in Heraklion, Crete. Only bio-fuel (wood) is used for the burning, just as it has been done for millennia. Therefore, there are no 2 jars that are exactly alike, either in design or firing, and the specified sizes are not 100% accurate.
