Blood Moon or Red Moon as it is called in English occurs during a total lunar eclipse while the moon is full. Moon, earth and sun lie in a straight line, so that the earth shadows the moon. The moon can turn red because the sun's rays during the eclipse are reflected through the earth's atmosphere, and it is precisely that atmosphere that has given its name to Pnevmatikaki's Red Moon, blended from the two fine grape varieties, Merlot and Cabernet. A classic combination that combines the fullness and weight of the Merlot with the fine aromas of the Cabernet. A sublime wine of good character from the Pnevmatikakis vineyard, served at 12-13°C in summer and 16-18°C in winter with red meat, spicy and robust dishes as well as cheese.
