Tzatziki
Then it was finally " Tzatziki " time! This traditional Greek dip simply refers to the Greek yogurt mixed with cucumber, garlic and herbs.
This dip is almost always served with Greek souvlaki or gyros.
Preparation time: 15 min
Portions: 4 people
Ingredients:
- 300g Greek yogurt "Dodoni"
- 1 cucumber (typically without the seeds)
- a pinch of coarse salt
- 3 tablespoons of vinegar
- 2 tablespoons Greek Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 1 tablespoon Tzatziki Mix
- 2-3 Greek olives for decoration
Preparation:
Follow these simple 5 steps to make your very own traditional Greek dip and wow your guests:
- Wash the cucumber thoroughly and grate on a grater, with the coarse edge.
- Let the water run off the cucumber and let it drain in a colander or strainer. Add salt and set aside while the liquid drains.

Prepare the yogurt by mixing it with the Tzatziki mix and olive oil.

Mix the cucumber into the yogurt and add the vinegar. Mix until completely combined and creamy.
Tip: Add extra garlic if needed.
- Refrigerate until ready to use.
Before serving, add 2-3 Greek olives on top of the tzatziki and sprinkle a few drops of olive oil over it. Then enjoy your homemade tzatziki, e.g. with some Greek pita bread !
